Rabbi Wechterman also served as Convention Chair for the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association's 2007 Convention in March 2007.

On April 26, Rabbi Wechterman participated in an interfaith dialogue sponsored by the RI Council for the Humanities.  Salve Regina University Episcopal priest Russell Ruffino and Donald Zeyl, chair of the Philosophy Department at the University of RI also participated.  Panel moderator was Jonathan Rubin, managing editor for the Jewish Voice & Herald. 

Rabbi Wechterman has been selected for the Rabbinic Leadership Program of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.  This is an 18 month program consisting of four five-day retreats with weekly interim study and practice.  The program helps Jewish leaders cultivate their own inner lives so they may better nurture the spiritual lives of others.
