THE NIGHT SKY

As part of our curriculum, Kitah Daled is studying different parts of the Ma’ariv, evening, service. We talked about the night sky and the changes that take place in nature as night begins to fall. As part of this endeavor, students wrote either poetry or other short writing samples expressing their feelings and questions about the evening. We thought we would share them with you and encourage you to notice our mural depicting the night sky currently hanging on the wall of the sanctuary.

Night sky, following us
Imagining the world a better place
Great singing around the bima
Having the time of our lives
Telling the most beautiful stories.

By: Ben Levine

Evening
Very peaceful
Everything seems right
Now and then my eyes close and then flutter open
I feel good inside
Never ending love from
God

By: Tessa Rudnick

Nothing around
In the night sky
Glistens a star
Having a heart full of gold
That is all to be told.

NIGHT

Night is dark and cold.
Sometimes it is fun to
Play
Football!

NIGHT

The night isn’t as bright as day.
Watching movies is really fun.
I think that night is GREAT!

I LOVE THE NIGHT

I love night!
The stars come out to light up the night.
The moon shines bright.
Night is the best thing in everyone’s life.

LOOKING AT THE STARS

At the sky I look tonight
All the stars right now are bright
Giant balls of gas and flames
I sit there watching snug and tight
It looks like they’re playing games
I wonder if they all have names
Hey look, there’s the brightest one
Or maybe that’s just what it claims
It looks like they are having fun
But it could be that one is done
I think they tell a story
But maybe there is more than one
They can have a fight that is gory
I look right now to stop the worry
And let go of my very big furry.
